Locations of notaries in 1656
/The office of the secretary of the chief officer Amsterdam became more centralized during the second half of the 17th century. Before that, the chief officers sometimes held copies of depositions from different notaries in which conflicts throughout the city were recorded. In this map, pie charts show the different notaries and their place of residence according to the records in the Attestatieboek of 1656 and the Repertorium van Notarissen by A. I. Bosma.
The historic map tile in the background is from 1649 by Joan Blaeu.
